Vintage?

I'm coming up on my 1 year anniversary at LOFT. And I've noticed that quite a few things are being repeated from last spring. Same shorts, maybe just a slight fabric change or button change, same thing with the shirts. I bought this dress last year towards like in September. I bought it to wear on Thanksgiving, but I got really sick and wasn't feeling like dressing up. Then after that it turned into cooler temps and I just never wore it. So last week, guess what dress came in shipment for the new spring look.....I was pretty excited to see it. So I took the tags off and put that bad boy on. It looks really cute on, I wasn't totally in love with it like I usually am with my clothes but it a great throw on dress. And of course, as always, you can add a great scarf with colorful shoes to spruce up that grey. HB

Spring is in the air and it's not cool!

So since all the rain and the weather going back and forth my face has been draining! Ugh I know gross!!!! But it's made me feel super icky, so today when I work up I was not feeling it. I had to grab my favorite green easy to wear pants to make ease my suffering! Ha! No but for real, is it just me but certain clothes make me feel cozy and comfy and better about myself when I'm sick and have to actually get dress for public viewing. Well these are some of those for me. I think I wore them when I got food poisoning also.  So yeah my comfort zone pants! I think I've already stated that I like to wear them with everything and anything! Today I wore them with a greyish shirt with fireball red sandal, which are all LOFT attire and since I'm such a trend setter, I was selling those shoes today! To be honest, not the best idea to break in new shoes when you work retail! Hopefully, whatever is in the air that's messing with my nose and eyes goes away soon. HB

Prints rock!

Oh how I love a printed pant!! First, with a colorful printed pant you have tons of shirt options. The pants I wore yesterday, I've wore with just about every color in the pant plus denim shirts plus just a plain basic tank with a jean jacket. My favorite shirt to wear with these pants is just a cream color but in gold letters the front says " Champagne is always the answer" which makes me feel like these are the perfect brunch pant! I'd rather wear a print on bottom then on top, it might sound weird but I feel like a printed top distracts from your face. Folks are looking at your shirt and not you and your smiling face! But a pant...they noticed the pant, then look at your face to see who is so bold to wear such a wild article of clothing! Also I love wearing the unexpected shoe with these pants. I'm wearing just a basic canvas shoe that of course I purchased from LOFT, the pants are LOFT and the shirt is L&G.
So go out be bold, grab that print, you will never regret it! HB

Denim on Denim

I was born in the 70's and I remember tv shows where they wore jeans with a denim shirt. I swear it was the standard outfit for eeevvvveeerrryyyone! I always thought I would look ridiculous wearing and I fought the outfit for years. Even in the 90's when Britt and Justin tried to bring it back with their match full denim ensemble I just couldn't do it. Well now I will a lady wearing the denim on denim and I'm thinking she looks so stinkin cute, should I try it???? Well, I did!!! And can I just say, I'm loving the looking! It's not an everyday look. For me, it's more of a causal Saturday or a random Tuesday antiquing kinda day. But over all it's do-able. However, I suggest you don't wear the same shade of denim! And break up the denim with a really GREAT belt and a colorful scarf. Your gonna love this easy throw on outfit but don't love it to much that you end up wearing it all the time. HB

Rules were meant to be broken

So I broke my rule about only buying pieces of clothing that can mix in with at least 4 other things I already have in my closet when I bought this shirt. I wasn't gonna try it on because it kinda looked old ladyish but I did and of course I fell in love! So I bought it and I didn't even think about what I could match with it, I just knew I had to have it. Spring break for me is the official start of shirt season, so I wanted to wear shorts but I also wanted to wear this new top. I paired it with these super cute black shorts that have a  print on them but is a black print. So it just looks like a detailed short, super cute. So here is my 1st official summer look! I'm super excited about wearing shorts and can wait to mix it up with other things I have. HB

Spring Break yeeeeaaaahhh!!!

Th sun finally came out on Sunday, which officially started Spring Break for my youngest daughter and me! I mean I don't go anywhere or do anything but it makes me feel closer to summer once spring break hits. And because the sun was out for felt the need to bust out a skirt for my short Sunday shift. I love this skirt! The color is called Fire Ball Red and let me tell you the color is fantastic!!! It's got these great front pockets that kinda remind me of a 70's type skirt for some reason. And if you know me I love a skirt or dress with pockets, so this one was right up my alley. It's a great summer skirt and I think the color can take me into the fall. I'm from Texas so our falls are pretty much still summer so being a shorter skirt won't make a difference. I paired with a denim shirt but a lady today bought the same skirt and paired with a white with navy polk a dot little tee. Man it looked super cute and it makes it a bit more casual then the denim shirt. One guess to what will be my next purchase HB

Rainy daysssss

It's been raining for like the whole week and today I am over it! I know we need it, my roses need it and the lakes need. But it's been so gloomy and gross. I did not feel like dressing today but I was scheduled to close so I had to put something on cute. I wanted to dress comfy though. So I went with my VS fleece lined leggings and this wonderful L&G cropped sweater. Since I am height challenged, it's not really that cropped on me but I still like a little tank underneath to cover all my areas. And since its raining, I went with the basic brown boot. Which I feel everyone wears with black leggings but it's still a cute look. Man I remember when I was younger, if you had black pants on you wore black shoes, so that whole brown boot thing was a bit much for me to swallow. But like with any trend, I was in to try it. Plus, Pinterest was a helpful push I needed to see how cute it could look. I get a lot of my outfit ideas from Pinterest. Anywho, it's still raining, I guess March showers bring April flowers?!?! Fingers crossed for sunny days. HB
